Soooo.. I am sitting here reading a batch of 'leadership' questions provided me by a potential employer. At first thought - wow, there are a lot of questions! And theyre all essays for criminy's sake. The last time I completed this many essay's I was divorcing and trying to explain it to bureaucratic neophytes.
These are questions neither to be brief or to entertain court appointed peeps. Rather, they are geared to locate and develop potential leaders within a firm. It brings me to a point of questions - what does it take to be a good leader?
Is it simply being decisive? Authoritative? Dominant or as some would say - domineering?!?
I dont think so. There is the old saying that you are only as strong as your weakest link. So, as a leader, you are only as strong as your weakest follower. If you are so busy you dont see the status of employees or that their needs exist, you are really only leading yourself.
