Lost

I feel lost tonight. Alone and lost. Like sitting in a crowd of total strangers in a foreign land where I don't speak the language.

I need to find an exit but I can't read the sign.

Everyone is busy in their own little conversations.. their own little worlds.. Almost like insulated bubbles and I'm floating on the outside.. I just can't seem to get through..

You know the movies where someone is drowning in a frozen pond. They're beating on the sheet of ice above them. Calm and determined at first.

But then the scene gets desperate.. Things are at a fever pitch now.. The beating on the glassy ice harder.
